We love Edgewater Beach in Cleveland because it has a little of everything! There is a play area for kids, hiking, cabana rentals, and beautiful views. Part of the beach is dog friendly. Main Street Beach
Main Street
Vermillion, OH
What we love about Main Street Beach:
Main Street Beach in Vermillion is a bit of a drive but it's a great family friendly beach. It's on the smaller side, but it's nice and sandy and there is a small lighthouse right there on the beach. There is a concession stand for snacks when the family gets hungry. Warning - you have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the public bathroom.

Hinckley Spillway
Hinckley Reservation
Hinckley, OH
What we love about Hinckley Spillway:
Hinckley Lake is much closer than Lake Erie, so it's great for when you don't have time for a full day at the beach. It's perfect for littler kids with a wading area on one side of the bridge and swimming on the other side. The water is pretty shallow and there's lots of sand for sand castles. Sit on the grassy hill with your blanket and picnic and watch the kids play. Enjoy snacks from the concession stand and if you feel like a walk, you can hike the paved trail around the lake.
