Saturday, March 10
On Saturday, March 10th the little store in Lakewood that offers only locally made goods will be marking the beginning of its second year with a celebration! Owner Chris Sorensen states: “The community has been extremely receptive to the idea of buying handmade and supporting local artists and crafters. As of press time, the shoppe currently houses the works of 70 talented locals, offering everything from artwork to Zombie Sock Creatures!”
The doors will open at noon and a day of festivities will begin at 15621 Madison Avenue this Saturday. Many new vendors have been added since opening in 2011, including Yates Apothecary, a small female-owned perfumery offering custom blended scents that are adorably packaged.
A trunk show featuring Lakewood artists Samantha Meyer and Nicki Schneider will be just one of the many draws of an event filled day. As the name states, there will be “Crafty Goodness” going on throughout the day as well. Stop in and try your hand at painting or a selection of other crafts that will be offered as a thank you to the customers. Of course a party is not complete without cake so stop by and grab a slice. Come one, come all, and always remember to buy local!
